Yorkshire Water’s one-star verdict: what it means for Calderdale
PLUS: Local sewage figures, Labour’s overdue correction, borough-wide news and your weekly What’s On guide.
Dear Reader
Driving around Calderdale this week the unmistakable hue of burnt oranges and yellows trumpeted loud Autumn's arrival across the borough. And despite Storm Boelo's leaf stripping efforts, the borough is looking beautiful. I wish the same could be said for our rivers. Our biggest story last week was breaking the news that Nicola Shaw, CEO of Yorkshire Water had resigned. Seemingly the YW board can only take so much crap (geddit?), and she handed in her notice after being handed the lowest environment rating in Yorkshire Water's checkered history. You can check out the full story by clicking below. We've also been keeping up with our reporting on the future of Mixenden Activity Centre, seemingly most local media have not been reading Calderdale Inside Out's reporting as they still seem in the dark as to what's happened and why. If you are still in the dark....Listen to our podcast with Council Leader Dan Sutherland, and click the link below for more.
We've also been back in contact with Calderdale Labour over our fact-checking investigation from May's local election camapign, although this time... it was at their request!
And this week...well - we will be following up on the Yorkshire Water story and digging into Calderdale financials with a brand new initiative... More on that very soon.
Enjoy the newsletter - have a great week.
Nick
